“If Your Gums Are Swollen And Sore, Call Salt Lake Dental Care”

"If Your Gums Are Swollen And Sore, Call Salt Lake Dental Care"

If you are a worried Murray resident experiencing inflamed gums or an aching tooth, you’re are not alone.

About one third of U.S. adults are affected by tooth decay, according to the CDC, and gum disease plagues one in seven people age 35 to 40.1 Don’t ignore these symptoms, call Salt Lake Dental Care today at 801-938-8855 for immediate treatment.

At Salt Lake Dental Care we take gum disease, seriously because left untreated it can lead to loss of bone and tissue that support the teeth.

Gingivitis is a mild form of gum disease. You will know you have it if your gums bleed easily and look red and swollen. If this condition is not reversed it can lead to periodontitis. With this condition your gums become loose and separate from the teeth forming cavities that can become infected. This can spread to the bone supporting the tooth. If this is damaged, the tooth can be lost. (If you have already lost a tooth to gum disease, ask us about dental implants.)

At Salt Lake Dental Care we recommend daily brushing and flossing and regular dental cleanings to help combat gingivitis. Our team has been treating gum disease and other dental problems for Utah residents since 2005.

If you want your teeth to feel fresh and bright, come in for a cleaning and check-up. Don’t become a statistic, prevent gingivitis by treating your teeth and gums with the TLC they deserve. (After all, they work pretty hard for you day in and day out.)

My name is Clint Blackwood and my staff and I at Salt Lake Dental Care offer quality general and cosmetic dental services including wisdom teeth removal, Invisalign, and
sedation dentistry.

Take care of your beautiful smile by calling Salt Lake Dental Care today. Visit Us Once and You’ll Be A Patient For Life

Salt Lake Dental Care Tooth Tips For Traveling

If you live in the Salt Lake City area and are planning to take a vacation or business trip soon, I recommend you coordinate your dental care with your travel schedule. It’s always a good idea to have a checkup with your Salt Lake City dentist prior to leaving on long vacations, especially if your trip is taking you to developing areas without good dental care options. This quick checkup will help you be sure that your mouth is ready to travel.

More importantly, if you have any dental procedures scheduled before you leave, discuss it with your dentist. A large number of dental procedures are actually surgical procedures. This means that your body will need more time to heal than you may realize.

Also, if you’re traveling by plane, you should be aware that changes in the cabin pressure of the airplane may cause tooth pain or discomfort for patients who have just had oral surgery. In addition, make sure you are aware of any necessary follow-up appointments with your Salt Lake City dentist or orthodontist before you schedule a vacation.

I’m Dr. Clint Blackwood and I want Salt Lake City residents to be informed about their dental care. My Murray practice offers:

wisdom teeth removal
Invisalign
sedation dentistry
porcelain veneers
teeth whitening

If you are looking for general dental care or quality cosmetic dentistry in the Sandy, Murray, or Salt Lake City areas, please call us today and let our high-quality staff take care of you.

Pregnancy And Oral Health In Murray

In today’s Salt Lake Dental Care blog we will discuss how pregnancy impacts your dental health. I am Dr. Clint Blackwood and I want all Utah expectant mothers to realize the importance of good oral hygiene during pregnancy. Because of the changes going on in a pregnant woman’s body there are potential dental health issues that may arise.

Many Murray women experience morning sickness accompanied with vomiting. The gastric acid increases the acidity in the mouth which can easily lead to enamel loss and tooth decay. Heightened levels of progesterone and estrogen may relax the ligaments that support the teeth causing them to loosen.

Most Murray residents have experienced gingivitis, but during pregnancy the hormonal changes increase your risk for gingivitis. Without proper dental care gingivitis can lead to gum disease.

If you are a pregnant Utah woman my staff and I at Salt Lake Dental Care recommend using a soft bristled toothbrush for daily brushing. Floss carefully and rinse your mouth with a fluoride wash. If you experience morning sickness, clean your mouth with a baking soda and water mixture.

If you are planning to become pregnant, it is a good idea to have a cleaning and exam prior to your pregnancy. If you need any dental procedures, it is a good idea to get them done as soon as possible. If you experience any dental problems during your pregnancy please call and schedule an appointment at 801-938-8855. Untreated dental disease can effect your overall health.

At Salt Lake Dental Care we not only offer excellent dental care to our pregnant clients, we provide quality preventative care and wisdom teeth removal for the entire family. Our Murray patients can expect professional general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry.

Wisdom Teeth Checkup

Wisdom Teeth Removed Salt Lake City Wisdom teeth usually come in between ages 16 and 24 for people in the Salt Lake City community. While not always troublesome, it is important to learn as early as possible whether your wisdom teeth are coming in sideways, or otherwise impacting your other teeth.

Checking your wisdom teeth in Salt Lake City is a simple and painless process, and can save you trouble down the road.

Our practice, ‘Salt Lake Dental Care’, works with patients from ages 2 to 90, and our high-quality staff can help you determine whether your wisdom teeth will need to be extracted. We can also help you determine whether your wisdom teeth will require advanced care, or if a simple procedure can solve the problem.

Wisdom teeth can be painful, and we don’t like pain at Salt Lake Dental Care. It’s our goal to give you the best care and attention when checking your wisdom teeth.

If you are in the Salt Lake City area and need to have your wisdom teeth checked, please stop by our office at 279 E 5900 S Ste 202, Murray UT. We also service the greater Salt Lake City area and surrounding communities.

We specialize in general dentistry, and often perform cosmetic dentistry. We can take a look at your wisdom teeth and help you make a healthy decision for your future. If your wisdom teeth need to be pulled, we provide effective and stress-free wisdom teeth extraction.
