1. Lock yourself in a closet. 2. Sew your mouth shut. 3. Wear a shock collar that’s sensitive to sugar particles.
At Salt Lake Dental Care we understand how hard it is to avoid sweets altogether at Halloween and other sugar-filled holidays. We encourage both unfettered joy and healthy living for all of our Murray patients.
The reason dentists like potatoes is because they are so “filling!” Ba-dum ching.
Lame joke, I know. But seriously, the wiser our patients in Draper and Sandy are about what they eat, the easier it will be to care for their dear old teeth.
At Salt Lake Dental Care, one of the most common complaints we hear from Murray dentistry patients is problems with mouth sores.
There are many different kinds of oral lesions which can make eating and talking painful. Some are annoying but harmless, while other sores are more serious and require medical intervention.
Over time, tea can stain the plaque that may eventually turn into tartar. Plaque can be brushed and flossed away. Thorough daily rituals of oral cleaning are valuable for this. Tartar (which forms if the plaque remains on the teeth for over 24 hours), on the other hand, will need to be removed in-office during a teeth cleaning appointment. Either way, between cleanings a wise method for avoiding tea staining is to rinse with water after drinking tea or to eat something and then to be sure to brush and floss all surfaces of the teeth at the end of the day.
Be prepared to provide your Murray dentist with information. Whether you are experiencing specific pain at that moment, or anticipating a problem, be sure to discuss everything with your dentist. Many patients become intimidated in the office environment and avoid expressing pain or discussing issues. As your dentist, I need to know everything you are experiencing and will be better prepared to help as you ask questions and express your concerns.

It’s always a good idea to have a checkup with your Salt Lake City dentist prior to leaving on long vacations, especially if your trip is taking you to developing areas without good dental care options.
