A tooth implant is anchored into the jawbone with a sturdy metal post. It doesn’t wiggle around like dentures, and unlike a dental bridge, it protects healthy jawbone and inhibits bone recession. After the post is completely enmeshed with the jawbone, the supporting device (called an abutment) and beautiful crown are firmly attached to the post. Some patients are able to undergo all three parts of the procedure at once.
